Burning Seed

What? Burning Seed 2011 is the second annual Australian Regional Burning Man event, happening from the 9th -14th November 2011. After an amazing first burn in Bellingen last year, the event is moving to a larger and more out-of-the-way location in a forest clearing near Narrandera in burning_seed_2011southern NSW.

Burning Seed is a gathering like no other, a not-for-profit festival run by participants and based around art and community. As the official regional burn for Australia, it follows in the footsteps of the Burning Man festival that has been taking place in Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA, since 1991, where every year tens of thousands of people create a temporary city that rises from an ancient dry lake bed over a week of intense creativity and sharing, before disappearing without a trace.

In recent years, the Burning Man cultural phenomenon has spread around the world, as burners share the spirit with their home communities and organise rburning_seedegional burns. These now include numerous events across the United States as well as AfrikaBurn in South Africa, Kiwiburn in New Zealand and Nowhere in Spain.

Burning Man, a dangerous celebration of imagination and survivorship, is illuminating the desert of northern Nevada. While Burning Man 2011 is officially sold out for the first time in the event's 25-year history, supporters can observe the Burning Man
live online feed. For next year, here are 6 things aspiring attendees should know about Burning Man. Source for this article:

. There are some happenings that I don't like to see. But then, they have the right to it anyway.

This really needs to be in the Aussie desert like they do in Nevada...somewhere with red dirt and hot sun. The site for 2011 just looks too tame. BM is about EXTREMES not a nice safe grassy knoll.

Comment - Been to the festival? Thinking of going? Share your thoughts. What did you enjoy? What were the positives? Disappointed - then dish the dirt! Give us the goss! Dirty toilets long line? Fell in love? Great value or rip off? Looking for someone you met? Tell it how it is. No naughty words.
