New Zealand Post Writers and Readers Week
What? Part of the New Zealand International Arts Festival. Aims to present a selection of top writers from New Zealand and around the world. Closely resembles literary events such as the Melbourne Writers' Festival, and focuses on fiction, poetry and serious non-fiction (history, biography etc). Approximately 16 international writers and many New Zealand writers participate in six days of stimulating and thought-provoking panels, readings, and lectures, along with book launches and other functions. Participants are selected by a committee made up of writers and others involved in the book trade.

Who? The full Writers and Readers programme will be launched on 26 January 2012 and the booklet will be widely available at Unity Books, libraries, bookshops and other outlets nationwide. Tickets to the Town Hall Talks, High Tea at the Museum Art Hotel, Young Writers & Readers Day, Schools Day and Art on the Move events are on sale from 14 November 2011 along with the Bookmark Pass and Take Five Pass – our two great Writers and Readers multi-passes. The remainder of Writers and Readers events will be on sale from 3 February.
