Numeralla Folk Festival
What? Over the years the Numeralla Folk-Festival has also earned the name of 'The Folkies Festival', because it's where you'll find all those die-hard genuine folkie characters who love to hang-out in the Australian bush and celebrate real folk-music, song, poetry and dance.
When? The festivities are held annually over the Australia Day long weekend, and there is no charge for camping or tickets. In the spirit of the festival all performances are also strictly 'pro bono', but those talented musicians who do decide to attend can be assured of being rewarded by the rich atmosphere and reciprocal performances of other talented musos.
Where? Numeralla Village is nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range 22 kms east of Cooma in New South Wales.
The main road to the village is from Cooma. Just turn east on the northern outskirts of the town (a sign opposite an old block of units will directs you over a rail crossing). Once on this road do not turn, just keep on driving straight out for approximately 22kms.
Numeralla may also be approached from the north-east through Braidwood. The road has about 50kms of unsealed surface. This road is generally very good, but sections of it may be slippery after heavy rain. It is a very pretty drive.
Look on the map for other non-sealed road options for getting to the village. All the roads are fine as long as you take your time.
If driving on any of these roads at dawn, dusk or night-time please drive slowly and cautiously as there are many kangaroos.
Who? Depends who turns-up!
What Events? Concerts. Poets Breakfast. Bush Dancing. Kid's activities.
How much are the tickets? Camping and the fesitival are absolutely free......
