OzManouche Gypsy Jazz Festival
What? OzManouche is Australia's premiere Manouche Gypsy Jazz Festival. Hosted by the Brisbane Jazz Club at Kangaroo Point, Brisbane, Oz Manouche is three days of concert performances, workshops, masterclasses, film screenings, merchandise stalls, food, licensed bar, chalkboard performances and endless jamming opportunities! Festivals dedicated to jazz manouche are held around the world, the most notable being the Samois Festival du Django Reinhardt in France. Across Australia there are many musicians and fans of this music, so it's time to have our own jazz manouche festival, and bring us all together!
Where? Brisbane Jazz Club, Brisbane, Queensland. By car, head down under the Storey Bridge. Continue down Main St, turn left into MacKenzie St then right into Annie St.

Who? 2011 - La Petite Manouche, two young guitarists from Christchurch . Headline act for 2011 is the one and only Andreas Oberg from Sweden. La Mauvaise Reputation from Melbourne.Ian Date, with his brother Nigel.

Past performers? Manouche a Trois, Blue Drag, Michel Trabelsi Quartet, Mystery Pacific,Djangologists, Hot Club of Boggy Creek, Laique. Robin Nolan, one of the great current Manouche guitarists with a style all his own, as well as Eurobop 5 - Paul Bulanyi's tribute to the two-clarinet lineups of Django Reinhardt's war years, not to mention Bonjour Swing from New Zealand, Australian violinist Ian Cooper teaming up with our patron Ian Date, the amazing Greshka and the Ewan MacKenzie Quartet.
