Sandy Beach Festival
Experience the weekend packed full of attractions at Sandy Beach.
The s is a weekend packed full of activities located at the picturesque Sandy Beach Reserve by the Swan River, located at the end of West Road in Bassendean. The theme of the Festival is about celebrating our cultural diversity, recognizing and experiencing the multitude of different cultures in our society.
The Festival incorporates a Sculpture Park Exhibition. In 2011 artists were asked to submit artworks based on the theme of cultural diversity and consider the words of acceptance, respect, expression of who we are and what it means to be human.
Following the opening there was an outdoor cinema showing of 'The Blind Side' staring Sandra Bullock along with handcrafts made from Bali, a sausage sizzle and bouncy castle.
On Saturday 26th March from 3pm to 9pm there was evening of Multicultural entertainment and activities to experience and enjoy. The Multicultural Fiesta provided an opportunity for community cultural groups to express their culture through music, dance and the sharing of food.
